The human person may be viewed as a multi-dimensional being consisting of spiritual, psychological, physical and social aspects, a concept rooted in the tradition of the Saint Louis University College of Nursing Theoretical Foundation. Lifestyle-changing dietary and wellness programs are evolving to address the growing recognition of the interconnectedness between each of these dimensions of the human person. This holistic approach to health and healing has a profound and positive impact on the well-being of the individual, the family and the community.
Having healthy dietary patterns is essential for maintaining optimal health and preventing various health issues. A well-balanced diet provides the body with essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals necessary for proper functioning. It supports the immune system, aids in weight management, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers.
Avoiding toxins commonly found in the standard American diet can foster better health and disease prevention. Routinely these toxins enter the body in food that has been exposed to pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, antibiotics, growth hormones, plastics, artificial colorings, flavors and sweeteners, preservatives, fertilizers, GMO and “forever chemicals”
A good rule-of-thumb is: “Eat only pure food but not too much and not too often”.
Maintaining healthy lifestyle patterns is crucial for overall well-being and longevity. Adopting habits such as regular exercise, a balanced diet, sufficient sleep, and stress management promotes physical health, reducing the risk of chronic diseases and enhancing the body’s immune system.
At AlphaWellness, seasoned professionals work closely with our clients to promote the healthy lifestyle patterns that result in disease prevention – primary, secondary and tertiary, through wellness coaching, health education and “Health Mapping”, a customized health-guidance plan devised for individuals, families and communities based on risk assessments.
